Tenovus receive Royal visit aboard Mobile Cancer Support Unit
Monday 1st March 2010
Tenovus' Patron, HRH Princess Royal visited Tenovus Mobile Cancer Support Unit in Cwmbran as part of her tour of Gwent.
Princess Anne met with patients receiving cancer treatment on the Unit and seemed very impressed with the service.
“What I have seen today makes a very good argument for more mobile units and not just here in Wales.”
The Royal visit took place on 25th February at Cwmbran Stadium where Tenovus' Mobile Cancer Support Unit provides routine treatments every week.
Tenovus’ Sing for Life choir, which consists of cancer patients, their family members and carers made their first public performance on the day to raptuous applause.
The visit marked the first birthday of Tenovus’ Mobile Cancer Support Unit which has delivered 578 cancer treatments in the last 12 months.
