Lawyers go wild over charity triathlon
Monday 24th May 2010
A team of men and women from Welsh law firm Morgan Cole are helping Welsh Cancer Charity Tenovus by taking part in a wild 70 mile triathlon.
A 12 strong team of Morgan Cole lawyers, support staff and friends have agreed to take part in the gruelling 47 mile bike ride, 10 mile kayak and 13 mile run across the beautiful landscape of Bala in North Wales. The team’s ability ranges from those who don't know what a kayak is to seasoned marathon runners.
Andrew Davies, Solicitor from Morgan Coles Business Support and Insolvency Department said:
“The appeal of the event is to do something different, getting away from the busy metropolis of Cardiff and to have some fun, albeit that everyone recognises it will not be a straightforward task.
“Not ones to shy away from a little healthy competition, the firm have entered several teams into the event and each team will be keen to ensure they finish top of the Morgan Cole pile.
“Morgan Cole are pleased to support their charity of the year in promoting this event in only its second year since inception.”
Tenovus’ Events Fundraiser Kate Monaghan said:
“70 Wild Miles is one of the ultimate events for both keen triathletes and those without experience. Funds raised from this event will enable us to continue to invest in cancer research and preventions, and deliver the best treatment for today’s cancer patients, closer to home. The money that this year’s participants have raised will help us work towards a future where more people survive cancer. Every penny really does make a difference to us”.
