Coronation Street Star spotted in local Tenovus shop

Tuesday 15th June 2010

Tenovus, your cancer charity, had a surprise customer at their Tetbury shop last week. Coronation Street star, Kate Ford, who plays Tracey Barlow surprised staff and volunteers when she visited the store to purchase a child’s hat and a toy.

The actress who has played Tracey Barlow since 2002 was in the Tenovus shop on Long Street where she enjoyed browsing and shopping in addition to making a donation to the charity.

Tenovus’ Tetbury Shop Manager, Joy Wright said,

“We were delighted to have the actress in the shop last week as we hadn’t had her in here before and she is very well known across the country. She was very polite and bought a few child items and even made a donation at the till!”

Tenovus has 66 shops nationwide, all of which raise funds to help bring care, treatment, advice and learning for cancer in the heart of the community. Tenovus also delivers a number of services including the Tenovus Mobile Cancer Support Unit, which provides cancer treatment to patients in their communities, alleviating the strain that travel can add to receiving treatment.

Please help us to continue to support people with cancer when and where they need it most by donating your unwanted items, donations or by volunteering your time in one of our shops.
