Charity on the look out for Marathon runners
Wednesday 7th October 2009
Welsh cancer charity Tenovus are calling for volunteers to ‘run for the bus' by taking part in the Virgin London Marathon.

Funds raised by Tenovus supporters will go towards Tenovus' mobile cancer support unit, which provides a range of financial support and chemotherapy to cancer patients throughout South Wales.
The marathon is taking place on April 25th 2010 in London, and Tenovus is looking for people who have already got a place in the marathon, and want to help raise vital funds for cancer services in Wales.
Kate Monaghan, Events Fundraiser at Tenovus, said:
"As a fundraising event, there is no race in the world that comes close to the London Marathon. Demand to support Tenovus this year has been incredible, and as a result Tenovus has already allocated all of our own charity places, but we still need more people to ‘run for the bus'. We are calling for people who have been allocated a place through the National Ballot to put on their running shoes in aid of Tenovus.
"The Tenovus mobile cancer support unit, the first of its kind in the UK, enables patients to receive the best treatments, closer to home. This unique project relies solely on donations and money raised by the general public, so activities like these really do make a difference to us. If you have your own place in the marathon, and would like to raise money for Tenovus, we would love to have you on our team."
