Ruthin and Denbigh win Creative Volunteer Award
8 June 2012
In the run up to our Volunteer Awards on 5 July we'll be
featuring one of our six award winners. Today is the
winner of our Creative Award, Menna Williams, who is representing
the Ruthin and Denbigh Friends of Tenovus (FoT) group, for which
she is chair.
The group first formed 23 years ago after a number of their
work colleagues were diagnosed with breast cancer. The group
decided to do something positive and chose to adopt us as
their cancer charity to support.
Through small events such as supermarket collections, 'pop up'
shops, cake sales and knitting, their dedication over so many years
has resulted in the group raising over £130,000 for us. They
have made an enormous difference to the lives of cancer
patients and families who we support.
Menna will collect the Creative Award, on behalf of the Ruthin
and Denbigh group, at our Volunteer Awards on July 5 at St David's
Hotel, along with the winners of our 5 other categories. For more
